KARACHI: Swarms of grasshoppers attacked the rural region of Malir in Karachi because of which yields spread on several sections of land of land are dreaded to be destroyed.
Cultivators are tremendously stressed as their harvests are in threat and have spoke to the Sindh Government to make prompt move for sparing their plants from grasshoppers.
Specialized Advisor WWF Pakistan Moazzam Khan has said that grasshoppers were on the ascent because of substantial downpours and sweltering climate this year.
He said that these grasshoppers have originated from the beach front regions of Balochistan.
Moazzam Khan said that grasshoppers are the most hazardous bugs who devastate the plants and yields totally.
He exhorted that there ought to be a branch of plant assurance to control grasshoppers through fumigation (creepy crawly slaughtering showers) in the city.
